Analysis of Disturbances in Neurofluid Dynamics in Type I Chiari Malformations
Researchers want to understand how spinal fluid and blood move in the head and neck in Chiari I. They use a special MRI that measures flow, comparing adults with and without symptoms to people without Chiari.
- What you'd do
- Extra flow scans added to an MRI, on one day. For adults 18 to 50 with no past brain or spine surgery and no other nerve or heart conditions in their history (ask the study team what counts). Not for people who can't have an MRI, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding. People with Chiari are invited after a neurosurgery visit at the hospital in Amiens, and the team re-checks the scans to confirm Chiari I.
